Helping out at the MLC Cup 2021

18 May Helping out at the MLC Cup 2021

On Saturday 8th May, the team at SportsFit Physio & Health had the opportunity to proudly support another year of the MLC Cup. This is an annual charity event where parents of St Mary’s and St Roch’s schools compete in a netball and football game to raise funds for charity.

The afternoon kicked off with a netball game between the two schools. Fortunately, the weather held out and the rain stayed away for the whole game! The game was closely contested and played in great spirits, with St Roch’s ultimately getting the win. Our physios Jodie and Seb were  there all game to assist with pre-game taping, massage and injury assessment during the games.

Next up was the football match down the road at DW Lucas Reserve. The game was also closely contested, with some of the SportsFit team even jumping on to play to help fill in numbers for an undermanned St Roch’s. With the game in the balance at three quarter time, unfortunately our physio Seb left early and deserted his team, which ultimately lead to St Mark’s storming home in the last quarter to a strong victory. The word in the staffroom is that after a dominant first half performance, Seb thought he had the 3 votes secured for best on field and decided he was ready to go home.

The afternoon was very successful with many attendance. The honours were shared between St Mary’s and St Roch’s, with one win a piece. Most importantly, money was raised for cancer research on a wonderful afternoon.
