What to expect when you attend the clinic

SportsFit Physio & Health is currently open and from Friday October 22nd will be providing all on-site services (including routine care and group classes). 

To ensure the safety of our staff, clients and whole community, we do have updated vaccine requirements for attending on-site.

From the 22nd October 2021:

Any person (16 years and older) attending the clinic for 1:1 sessions must provide evidence they:

  • are fully vaccinated with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, or
  • have received their first dose and have a booking to receive a second dose by 15 December 2021, or
  • have a medical exemption to be vaccinated evidenced by an authorised medical practitioner*, or
  • have proof of a negative COVID test and isolation in the previous 48 hours.

Any person (16 years and older) attending the clinic for group sessions must provide evidence they:

  • are fully vaccinated with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine

The safety of our staff, clients and community has always been paramount and we pride ourselves in maintaining strict hygiene procedures even prior to COVID-19. During these testing times we have raised our game even more. We will post any further updates related to our COVID-19 measures and services in our latest news (CLICK HERE).

What can I expect when I attend the clinic?

Everyone over the age of 16 who attends onsite (this includes staff, clients, carers/guardians) is required to:open during lockdown

  • Scan in using the QR code;
  • Show a SportsFit Team member your check-in screen;
  • Show a SportsFit Team member evidence of your vaccination, medical exemption or valid COVID-19 negative test;
  • Wear a mask while inside the clinic;
  • Wash their hands on arriving and leaving.

All our staff will be wearing a minimum surgical-grade mask and all are fully vaccinated with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. We also ask that you only enter the clinic just prior to your appointment time.

How do I prove my vaccination status?

The easiest way to show you vaccination status is to add your COVID digital certificate to the Services Victoria app (which you use to check in at all premises), or show a copy of your status from your myGov account. We will accept a print out if you do not have a smartphone or device.

What if I am not vaccinated?

We understand many people are currently not vaccinated for a variety reasons. If you attend onsite you must provide:

  • Proof of a medical exemption which must be from a CHO-approved medical practitioner. Read MORE here

or

  • Proof a negative COVID test within 48hours of your appointment. This test must done prior to each and every appointment you attend on site, and you must be self-isolation between the test and time of appointment. We will continue to offer telehealth services to all clients who are unable or prefer not to attend on-site.

Can other people attend the clinic at my appointment?

It is still important we keep the onsite numbers in the clinic at a minimum and all rooms based on size have a maximum capacity. Only people required for the appointment should attend on-site. We understand there will be times other people may be required on-site and this includes:

  • Guardians, carers or parents, or;
  • Children who are at an age that require supervision.

Do I need a referral to attend?

No, you do not need a referral to attend the clinic during any of the lockdown stages or as we return to a COVID-normal.

When should I not attend?

You are still NOT to attend on-site if you are:

  • Experiencing any cold or flu like symptoms (eg. fever, runny nose, sore throat, cough);
  • Awaiting the result of a COVID-19 test;
  • Have been advised to be self-isolating or in quarantine;
  • Do not have evidence of COVID vaccination, medical exemption or negative COVID-test within 48 hours.

What other changes have occurred on-site?

Our hygiene procedures have been raised another level. You will notice:

  • Using hospital grade disinfectant, throughout the day we are constantly wiping down surfaces after they have been touched;
  • Our treatment couches no longer have linen, and are wiped clean after every client;
  • Our practitioners, as well as treatment couches, are wiping down all surfaces that have been touched after each client;
  • Hand sanitiser is freely available throughout the clinic;
  • Practitioners and staff are wearing minimum surgical-grade masks;
  • All staff have undertaken the COVID-Safe infection control training;
  • We have regular reviews of our COVID-Safe plan;
  • All staff are fully vaccinated against COVID-19;
  • Most of the SportsFit team are now immune to the smell of ‘bleach’.
