At SportsFit Physio & Health, our dietitian, Alex, brings a unique blend of expertise in nutrition, dietetics, and psychology to provide a holistic approach to your health. With a Master of Dietetics, Bachelor of Nutrition and a Major in Psychology, and also additional training in FODMAP and IBS management, Alex tailors evidence-based strategies to suit your individual needs.
Alex’s extensive background in sports nutrition makes her an excellent choice for active individuals and athletes. She has worked with elite teams, including Hawthorn AFL & AFLW, Box Hill (VFL), Melbourne Mavericks (Suncorp Super Netball), St. Kilda Football Club (AFL), and Sandringham Football Club (VFL), providing high-level nutrition support. Her experience ensures that whether you’re managing a health condition, optimising performance, or making sustainable lifestyle changes, you receive expert, compassionate, and results-driven care.
Our Dietitian also specializes in weight management. This includes helping clients with either weight loss, weight gain or simply maintaining weight. They don’t prescribe ‘diets’ or follow a one-size fits all model. They understand everybody is different, and take a patient-centred approach which aims to set realistic and achievable goals. Weight loss and weight maintenance are not easy, and often people will try several approaches. Research shows that the best outcomes are achieved with proper guidance, support and education- which our weight loss dietitian is here to provide. Using evidence-based measures, their guidance and support will also ensure you maintain a healthy and nutritious eating plan, and restore your healthy relationships with food again. They also understand diet is one part of the equation, and are happy to work alongside other health professionals so you can achieve your realistic goals.
When not at SportsFit, our dietitian is also working with elite sporting teams (AFL, AFLW and Suncorp Super Netball) and recreational sporting teams (school aged and adult). Good food is an essential part of maintaining good health and eating the right food can help improve sporting performance and aid recovery. Taking a patient-centred approach to identify the best eating and drinking strategies so as to meet the individual schedule training or competition requirements. They help provide meal plans according to latest research findings, to ensure your body is ideally fuelled to help you keep ahead of the game. Read more HERE

Yes, our dietetics services are all claimable. If you have appropriate extra’s cover you can claim on-site via our HICAPS or alternatively we can email you your receipt to claim online.
Can I use a Medicare Plan?
Yes, if you have a valid referral for a careplan from your GP. Make sure the referral is for SportsFit Physio & Health.
Do you give detailed and specific meal plans?
Our dietitian will guide you and educate for meal planning, but in a typical consult will not give you a specific 7-day or 28-day detailed meal plan. Detailed meal plans (with recipes) are provided by our Nutritionist Isabelle (READ MORE HERE). If your meal plan is related to a medical condition we recommend you still consult with our Dietitian initially, who will then liaise with our Nutritionist and together provide you with a detailed meal plan.
